Finding software which converts DVDs to XviD or DivX AVI files can sometimes be a complicated task, but Catalencoder is an easier solution which does just that.
The interface of the program is a little bit cluttered but nevertheless easy-to-use once you know exactly what everything does.
Getting started with Catalencoder is simple: just import a DVD via the file browser dialog, choose an output directory and your settings and click the corresponding button.
Some of the settings you can specify for your output file are things like deinterlace, cropping, video size and several audio-related options like normalization and language track; subtitle streams can also be converted from the DVD disc.
Help files for Catalencoder are virtually non-existent and the use of the English language in the program isn't that great.. but the ease-of-use otherwise makes this program pretty good.
Catalencoder is licensed as Freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system / platform from media converter software without restrictions. Catalencoder 1.4.3 is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
Compatibility with this dvd ripper software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from SAS Team 66.
